About: CARE House (The Child Abuse and Neglect Council of Oakland County), is a Child Advocacy Center where, through agreement with the county’s Prosecutors Office, police jurisdictions, and the Children’s Protective Services of the Department of Human Service, child victims of sexual and severe physical abuse are referred and interviewed, in accordance with a state-wide protocol.When abuse is disclosed, children are offered individual and group therapy at CARE House; with weekly support group available for non-offending family members. All services are provided at no cost to the children and families served. CARE House expands its reach through advocacy and prevention programs, aimed at breaking the cycle of abuse and neglect and increasing community awareness of child abuse.
