Infants, young children and their families are socially and emotionally healthy.

Charge:
The Social/Emotional Health Subcommittee is composed of local leaders and content experts. The subcommittee will provide a forum for shared leadership, coordinated planning and strategic communication to improve the social & emotional outcomes of all young children and their families in Oakland County. The work of this subcommittee concerns: access, quality, standards, capacity, innovation, evidence-based practice/research, workforce development, finance, and interface with other components (program and service integration), with a specific focus on addressing racial, cultural, and ethnic disparities in the context of this component.  To view the Year Three Action Agenda click here.

Meeting Information

The Social and Emotional Health Subcommittee meets again on the first Wednesday in March (3/03/10) and then will meet again every other month from 1:00-3:00 at Easter Seals. To view GSC-O's full calendar of meetings online click here.

 

The Social and Emotional Health Subcommittee has several Task Force Workgroups.  These workgroups are designed to focus on specific projects from the action agenda.  Specific projects include (1) professional development and parent support for challenging behaviors; (2) social emotional training/education opportunities; (3) post-partum depression; and (4) social-emotional developmental screenings.  For a summary of these workgroups to date click here.
