Strategic Planning
One of the goals of the Great Start Collaborative-Oakland is to complete a local early childhood system assessment. The Great Start Collaborative-Oakland will oversee the development of a strategic plan for the Great Start system in the county. The content of the strategic plan will be informed by the findings of this local early childhood system assessment. The local early childhood system assessment has three required elements:
  1. The preparation of a Community Report Card on Early Childhood on the current status of infants, young children and their families in the community. To view our Community Report click here.
  2. Completion of a Strategic Review of Local Great Start System Components,
  3. Completion of an Early Childhood Infrastructure Review that examines existing early childhood system infrastructure including, but not limited to, policies, procedures, funding, data collection and sharing, accountability, formal interagency agreements, etc.

The strategic plan will include the Local Great Start System Components:

  1. Physical Health
  2. Social & Emotional Health
  3. Parenting Education & Family Support
  4. Early Care & Education
  5. Basic Needs, Economic Security & Child Safety
